Thin and Lightweight Laptops
Laptops will soon be lighter than air, it seems. It all started a few years ago with the MacBook Air. Now, even that seems heavy. The Samsung Ativ Book 9 Ultrabook’s thickest edge is just 10.2mm and weighs 3lb. The new Apple MacBook is just 2lbs and the thickest edge is 13mm. Both boast fairly long battery life, as well.
Windows 10
The announcement of Windows 10 was like Christmas for PC users. After a disappointing Windows 8, we all couldn’t wait to upgrade. Windows 10 has a lot of similarities to Windows 7, so it’s not an entirely transformed interface. However, it starts up and resumes faster, has more built-in security, and works with the software and hardware you already have.
4K Monitors
In the beginning, 4k monitors were a mess. They were overpriced, had low refresh rates, and could be hard to configure. However, the new generation is much more impressive. They are more affordable for the average consumer and feature a beautiful image without the previous kinks. A 4k display has double the resolution and four times the number of pixels as a 1080p display, so you’re getting the sharpest on-screen imagery possible.
Mini Desktops
Pint-sized desktops are making an attempt for popularity again. When they first launched, they didn’t gain quite the amount of attention manufacturers were hoping. But this year, new models were released and quickly garnered more attention. They are a great option for someone who doesn’t want a laptop, but doesn’t have the space for a giant tower. There’s the Mac Mini for Apple lovers, as well as the HP Pavilion Mini and HP Stream Mini, which are the most talked-about options on the market right now.
Curved Monitor
After the curved television came out, we knew it wouldn’t be too long before a curved monitor was released. Brands claim that a curved TV provides a more immersive viewing experience. Now, you can feel that too at work or when gaming with a curved monitor. Samsung now offers the ATIV One 7 Curved. It comes in at 27 inches with a 1TB hard drive, but it’ll cost you close to $1300.
